Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has formally rejected a US-backed peace plan for Gaza, stating troops will not pull out until Hamas is disarmed.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has formally rejected a 15-point peace proposal for Gaza backed by US President Donald Trump, insisting Israeli forces "will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed."

Speaking to his cabinet, Netanyahu stated that Israel rejects the document, which Hamas had accepted in late July to secure a military pullout and lasting ceasefire. The decision highlights growing strain between Washington and Tel Aviv, even as Israeli troops have temporarily paused strikes under American diplomatic pressure.

Netanyahu faces pressure from far-right ministers while managing relations with his primary international ally ahead of national elections scheduled for October 27. Separately, regional tensions persisted following reported Houthi strikes targeting energy and port facilities in Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
