Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has formally rejected a 15-point Gaza peace proposal endorsed by US President Donald Trump, insisting Israeli forces will not withdraw from the enclave until Hamas is fully disarmed.
In televised remarks to his cabinet on Sunday, Netanyahu stated that Israel "will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed" and confirmed the country "rejects the 15-point document." The statement marks a growing rift between Washington and Jerusalem, coming shortly after Trump proclaimed a diplomatic breakthrough in the conflict.
Although Israeli military operations in Gaza have slowed under American diplomatic pressure, Netanyahu faces conflicting domestic and international demands ahead of Israel's national election on October 27. Meanwhile, Hamas had previously accepted the 15-point framework.
