Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has formally rejected a 15-point Gaza peace proposal backed by US President Donald Trump, declaring that Israeli troops will not pull out of the enclave until Hamas is fully disarmed.
Speaking to his cabinet, Netanyahu stated that the military "will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed and will continue to thwart threats against our forces." The announcement underscores a public rift with Washington, even as Israeli forces have recently scaled back offensive operations in Gaza following diplomatic pressure from the United States.
Hamas accepted the framework late last month. Netanyahu's rejection comes as he prepares for national elections on October 27, balancing demands from far-right coalition partners against pressure from the US administration.
