Rescuers search for over 1,500 missing people along the Nepal-Tibet border after catastrophic flash floods raised Nepal's death toll to 469.

Search and rescue operations are continuing along the Himalayan border between Nepal and Tibet following Wednesday's devastating flash flood. Nepalese authorities reported that the country's death toll has risen to 469, while Chinese officials have maintained a count of three fatalities in Tibet. More than 1,500 people remain missing across the region, including dozens of foreign tourists and workers from Britain, Australia, India, Malaysia, Ukraine, and the United States.

The disaster occurred after mud and rock collapsed into a border river, sending torrents downstream that swept away villages, roads, bridges, and power facilities. Emergency personnel face significant obstacles reaching isolated communities due to severe infrastructure damage and ongoing threats of secondary flooding and landslides. Search efforts also continue in Tibet's Gyirong sector as authorities work to locate missing residents.
