Kyiv struck by Russian drones as von der Leyen warns over EU security

Kyiv suffered fresh Russian drone attacks as EU chief Ursula von der Leyen warned Moscow against operations on European soil following a drone probe in Leipzig.
Overnight Russian drone attacks struck Kyiv, injuring one woman, shortly after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the United Nations General Assembly. Russian defense officials announced a renewed campaign targeting Ukraine's energy grid, while Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian refineries continued to disrupt domestic fuel supplies in Russia.
Meanwhile, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen declared that the bloc "will not tolerate attacks on EU soil". Her remarks coincided with German investigators identifying two suspects linked to Moscow over explosive drones discovered in Leipzig. The developments underscore heightened security tensions across Europe.
