Heavy fighting persists across Ukrainian front lines as both sides report local shifts

Intense combat operations continue across multiple sectors of the front in Ukraine, with over 200 combat engagements recorded in a single day. According to official updates from the Ukrainian General Staff, Russian forces focused their heaviest assault efforts on the Pokrovsk and South Slobozhan directions.

At the same time, tactical shifts and conflicting claims were noted elsewhere along the frontline. Ukrainian troops made gains on the right bank of the Oskil River north of Kupiansk and expanded positions near Lyman. Meanwhile, Russia's Ministry of Defence reported taking control of several settlements near Sumy, and Russian General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov disputed assertions of Ukrainian progress in Zaporizhzhia. Strikes on ammunition depots were also reported in Kyiv Oblast.
