Heavy fighting continues across Ukraine as Russia and Ukraine clash over frontline claims

Heavy fighting persists along the Ukrainian frontline, with Ukraine's General Staff reporting more than 200 combat engagements in a single day. Russian forces concentrated their most intense assault efforts on the Pokrovsk and South Slobozhan axes, launching dozens of attacks against Ukrainian positions.

Simultaneously, tactical movements and conflicting accounts were reported across several operational sectors. Ukrainian forces advanced on the right bank of the Oskil River north of Kupiansk and expanded controlled territory near Lyman. Conversely, Russia's Defense Ministry claimed to capture several settlements approaching Sumy, while Russian Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov denied reported Ukrainian gains in the Zaporizhzhia region. Additionally, strikes targeted ammunition depots in Kyiv Oblast.
