Ukrainian forces report over 220 daily engagements and gains near Kupiansk, while Russia claims progress near Sumy and denies losses in Zaporizhzhia.

Heavy combat operations persist along the Ukrainian frontline, with Ukrainian military officials reporting over 220 combat engagements in a single day. Intense clashes remain focused in the Pokrovsk sector, where Ukrainian defense forces repelled more than 20 Russian assaults.

Ukrainian troops are also making advances north of Kupiansk along the right bank of the Oskil River, with officials preparing to announce control over up to 200 square kilometers near Lyman. Meanwhile, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed its forces captured several settlements on the approaches to Sumy and conducted targeted strikes on ammunition storage facilities in the Kyiv region. In Zaporizhzhia, Russian Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov publicly denied reports of Ukrainian progress.
