Heavy fighting continues across eastern Ukraine as overnight strikes target Kyiv region

Intense combat persists along Ukraine's eastern front line, with Ukrainian military officials reporting over 230 engagements daily across sectors including Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka, and Lyman. Ukrainian forces reportedly conducted infantry counterattacks north of Kupyansk, while claims of progress near Lyman remain prominent.
Territorial reporting remains contested between military commands. Russian defense officials assert recent advances near Sumy and deny reports of Ukrainian progress in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Meanwhile, overnight Russian aerial strikes hit the Kyiv region. Local authorities confirmed three fatalities, including a child, in the Brovary district alongside multiple reported fires around the capital.
