Clashes persist as Ukraine advances near Kupiansk while Russia claims progress in Sumy

Ukrainian troops advance along the Oskil River while Russian strikes hit ammunition storage in the Kyiv region amid conflicting frontline reports.
Ukrainian military forces continue advancing along the right bank of the Oskil River north of Kupiansk, with officials preparing to confirm the recapture of approximately 200 square kilometres near Lyman. Concurrently, overnight Russian air attacks targeted and damaged ammunition storage facilities in the Kyiv region.
In contrast, the Russian Ministry of Defence reported that its units secured several settlements on the approaches to Sumy. On the Zaporizhzhia front, Russian Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov publicly refuted reports of Ukrainian military breakthroughs, asserting that defensive lines remain intact across the sector.
