German authorities are investigating a suspected sabotage attempt at a power substation in Dormagen after discovering a launching device and a confession letter.

German authorities have launched a sabotage investigation following the discovery of a suspicious device near an electrical substation in Dormagen, North Rhine-Westphalia.

A passerby alerted law enforcement after finding the apparatus, which investigators believe was a launching device intended to target the local energy grid. Similar equipment was recently identified near a facility in Weisweiler. Cologne police confirmed they received a confession letter connecting the Dormagen event to earlier infrastructure attacks across North Rhine-Westphalia and Brandenburg.

Forensic experts continue to analyze the physical evidence retrieved from the scene. German authorities have heightened scrutiny over critical energy infrastructure as investigators work to identify suspects linked to the escalating series of incidents.
