France's Constitutional Council validated end-of-life legislation with reservations while striking down a ban on social media for under-15s.

France’s Constitutional Council has approved key elements of the government's end-of-life legislation and emergency agricultural measures, while striking down a proposed ban on social media for children under 15.

The high court ruled that establishing end-of-life procedures falls within parliamentary authority. However, justices added three interpretative reservations, notably guaranteeing a conscience clause allowing private and faith-based healthcare facilities to opt out of performing end-of-life procedures. French President Emmanuel Macron commended the approval, stating it finalized an "exemplary democratic debate."

Concurrently, the court struck down the primary provision restricting social media access for minors under 15, deeming a blanket prohibition an excessive restriction on public liberties. The decision effectively invalidates a key policy initiative championed by the executive branch.
