French authorities are deploying military forces and tightening security ahead of new nationwide demonstrations following violent weekend unrest.

French authorities have announced a massive security operation, including military deployments, ahead of new nationwide protests following weekend unrest over living costs and educational reforms.

The previous demonstrations drew over 500,000 people and resulted in one death, approximately 1,000 injured police officers, and around 2,000 arrests. French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the clashes, describing them as "violence out of control" while pledging that "those who destroyed must pay". Authorities distinguished between legitimate public grievances and actions by extremist groups accused of inciting vandalism and looting.

To maintain order during upcoming weekend rallies, Interior Minister Laurent Nunez confirmed enhanced security measures across the country.
