Former Slovenian national team captain Aleš Čeh and forward Jan Mlakar have reflected on their careers and the state of Slovenian domestic football in recent interviews.

Čeh, who led Slovenia during its initial major tournament appearances, discussed his long coaching tenure alongside manager Srečko Katanec, which included seven years working in Asia. While highlighting his ongoing ties to Olimpija Ljubljana and Austrian club Grazer AK, Čeh emphasized his ongoing respect for Maribor.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old striker Jan Mlakar addressed his third stint with NK Maribor. Born in Ljubljana, Mlakar expressed full confidence in former Maribor leaders Zlatko Zahovič and Darko Milanič.
