Former Slovenian captain Aleš Čeh and striker Jan Mlakar share insights on their coaching careers, club loyalties, and domestic league competition.

Former Slovenian national team captain Aleš Čeh and forward Jan Mlakar have provided updates on their professional trajectories and perspectives on domestic football.

Čeh, who served as an assistant coach to Srečko Katanec for more than a decade, recently concluded a seven-year stint coaching in Asia. Despite his long-standing ties to Olimpija Ljubljana and Austrian side Grazer AK, Čeh reaffirmed his ongoing respect for rival club NK Maribor.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old forward Jan Mlakar has returned to NK Maribor for a third tenure. Discussing domestic competition, Mlakar expressed full confidence in former Maribor leadership figures Zlatko Zahovič and Darko Milanič. He also noted that despite recent organizational turbulence at rival club Olimpija Ljubljana, derby fixtures remain inherently unpredictable.
