Nepal's flash flood death toll has reached 469 as rescue teams search for over 1,500 missing people along the Himalayan border with Tibet.

Rescue operations are ongoing along the Himalayan border between Nepal and Tibet following severe flash floods caused by a mud and rock collapse into a river. Nepali police reported that the country’s confirmed death toll has climbed to 469, while Chinese authorities previously reported three fatalities in Tibet.

More than 1,500 people remain unaccounted for across the affected region. Missing persons include hundreds of foreign tourists and workers from countries such as Britain, India, Australia, Malaysia, Ukraine, and the United States.

Emergency responders in both nations face critical obstacles, including rising water levels and the risk of additional landslides. The surging waters destroyed villages, bridges, roads, and power infrastructure, severely disrupting travel and communication networks. Search efforts remain active as teams race to locate survivors.
