Search and rescue operations continue along the Nepal-Tibet border after catastrophic flash floods left 469 dead and over 1,500 people missing.

Search and rescue operations are continuing along the Himalayan border between Nepal and Tibet following Wednesday's catastrophic flash flood. Nepalese officials reported that the country's death toll has risen to 469, while Chinese authorities maintain a count of three fatalities in Tibet. More than 1,500 people remain missing across the region, including hundreds of foreign nationals from Britain, Australia, India, Malaysia, Ukraine, and the United States.

The flooding was triggered when a massive wall of mud and rock collapsed into a border river, releasing torrents of water that swept through downstream communities, destroying bridges, power infrastructure, and entire villages. Emergency personnel face severe difficulties reaching isolated areas due to extensive road damage and ongoing risks of secondary landslides. Search efforts also persist in Tibet's Gyirong sector to locate missing residents.
