Ukrainian troops report advances near Kupiansk and Lyman, while Russia claims territorial gains near Sumy and refutes Ukrainian progress in Zaporizhzhia.

Clashes and conflicting territorial claims continue across several key sectors of the front line in Ukraine. In the northeast, Ukrainian forces are advancing along the right bank of the Oskil River north of Kupiansk, with official announcements anticipated regarding control over up to 200 square kilometres in the Lyman area.

Conversely, the Russian Ministry of Defence reported capturing several settlements on the approaches to Sumy, alongside strikes against ammunition storage facilities in the Kyiv region. In the southern Zaporizhzhia sector, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov publicly rejected claims of Ukrainian tactical progress, reflecting ongoing discrepancies in official battlefield reports.
