Casualty figures vary widely as rescue teams search for over 1,000 missing people after flash floods struck the border between Nepal and Tibet.

Emergency response efforts are ongoing following the catastrophic glacial collapse and flash flooding along the border between Nepal and Tibet. Search teams continue to navigate destroyed roads, power installations, and swept-away villages in the Himalayan region.

Casualty statistics reported by media outlets continue to vary as rescue operations unfold. The Guardian and STV News report at least 165 deaths in Nepal alongside three fatalities confirmed in Tibet by Chinese state media. However, the Sweden Herald indicates the overall death toll has exceeded 390. Total missing persons figures range from over 1,000 to more than 1,400 across both territories, with hundreds of foreign tourists among those unaccounted for. France24 initially cited a lower figure of at least 22 fatalities in Nepal.
