European stocks could gain traction following the US midterm elections as investors shift out of politically driven trades, according to Barclays equity strategist Emmanuel Cau.

Financial markets may experience near-term volatility following the US midterm election results, but European equities could gain renewed traction as investors reallocate capital, according to Barclays.

Speaking on Bloomberg Television, Emmanuel Cau, head of European and APAC equity strategy at Barclays, stated that the election outcome creates space for capital to move away from assets that previously rallied on political expectations. Cau noted that "there is a bit more room for this rotation out of the Trump winners into a broader part of the market," suggesting that global investors may increasingly look toward European equities as political clarity emerges.
