Russian missile hits Polish territory as Kyiv suffers deadly night strikes
A Russian missile crashed in Poland during massive nocturnal air strikes across Ukraine, as Kyiv pushes for US air defense production rights.
Russian forces launched a fresh wave of air strikes across Ukraine overnight, killing at least eight people and injuring dozens. In Kyiv, localized bombardment damaged residential five-story complexes and commercial properties, resulting in four deaths and 15 injuries, according to city officials.
During the barrage, a Russian cruise missile breached Polish airspace, traveling approximately 100 kilometers over six minutes before detonating in a field in eastern Poland. The blast left a five-meter-deep crater and scattered debris, prompting Warsaw to scramble combat aircraft amid concerns over regional escalation.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky renewed appeals to the United States for licensing rights to manufacture Patriot interceptors domestically, though Washington has refrained from approving the transfer. Zelensky also reported that Moscow utilized North Korean ballistic missiles in the recent strikes.
