The US Supreme Court has temporarily allowed construction on Donald Trump's $400 million White House ballroom to resume while legal challenges proceed.

The United States Supreme Court has ruled that construction on President Donald Trump’s $400 million White House ballroom can temporarily proceed while legal challenges continue. In a decision led by Chief Justice John Roberts, a five-justice conservative majority lifted a lower court injunction, stating the administration has a strong chance of overcoming a lawsuit filed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

The court clarified that this temporary order does not constitute a final ruling on the legal merits of the project. However, pausing the injunction allows contractors to advance major structural work before the justices issue a definitive judgment on the federal government's appeal.
