The US Supreme Court has issued a temporary stay allowing construction on President Donald Trump's $400 million White House ballroom to continue during legal review.

The US Supreme Court has issued a temporary stay allowing President Donald Trump to resume construction on a $400 million ballroom at the White House while ongoing litigation is reviewed. A 5–4 majority of conservative justices determined that the administration has reasonable prospects of having the lawsuit brought by the National Trust for Historic Preservation dismissed.

Chief Justice John Roberts issued an administrative order granting the emergency application to allow the court adequate time to evaluate the case. The Supreme Court emphasized that this procedural step does not constitute a final judgment regarding the overall legality of the building project, although construction may continue during the review.
