The US Supreme Court has temporarily lifted an injunction, allowing construction on Donald Trump's $400 million White House ballroom to proceed amid legal challenges.

The United States Supreme Court has allowed construction to temporarily resume on President Donald Trump's planned $400 million ballroom at the White House while a legal challenge proceeds.

In a decision issued by Chief Justice John Roberts, a five-justice conservative majority granted a stay against a lower court injunction, giving the justices additional time to evaluate the federal government's appeal. The suit was brought by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, which seeks to halt the project.

The Supreme Court emphasized that its ruling does not constitute a final judgment on the ultimate legality of the building project. However, pausing the injunction enables developers to advance construction, potentially completing major structural work before the legal dispute concludes.
