The US Supreme Court has granted a temporary stay allowing construction on President Donald Trump's $400 million White House ballroom to resume while legal reviews continue.

The US Supreme Court has granted a temporary stay allowing construction on President Donald Trump’s $400 million White House ballroom to proceed. A narrow 5–4 majority of conservative justices ruled on Monday that the administration demonstrated a strong likelihood of prevailing against a legal challenge brought by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Chief Justice John Roberts issued the administrative order, which temporarily overturns a lower court’s injunction while the justices evaluate the government's appeal. The Supreme Court emphasized that this action does not constitute a final ruling on the legal merits of the dispute. However, resuming construction means the structural framework of the ballroom could be completed before the legal proceedings reach a final conclusion.
