The US Supreme Court has temporarily lifted a construction pause on Donald Trump's $400 million White House ballroom while legal challenges continue.

The United States Supreme Court has granted a temporary stay allowing construction on President Donald Trump's planned $400 million White House ballroom to proceed. In a narrow 5–4 decision, the court's conservative majority suspended a lower court injunction that had halted the project following a legal challenge from the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

An order issued by Chief Justice John Roberts gives the justices additional time to evaluate the administration's appeal. While the court emphasized that the temporary stay does not represent a final verdict on the building's legality, the ruling allows structural work to continue during ongoing litigation. Consequently, the ballroom's basic shell could be completed before courts render a definitive judgment on the matter.
