US indicts five alleged Russian agents over Western sabotage and murder plots
US prosecutors have charged five alleged Russian intelligence operatives over plots targeting Ukraine allies across Europe and North America.
United States federal prosecutors in Manhattan have unsealed indictments charging five alleged Russian intelligence operatives with orchestrating assassination plots and physical sabotage across North America and Europe. According to federal authorities, the Kremlin-backed network recruited individuals to conduct covert surveillance and carry out attacks against entities and individuals supporting Ukraine. Documented operations include a June 2024 attack in Prague.
Concurrently, Denmark's Security and Intelligence Service reported that Russian state actors carried out physical sabotage targeting Danish defense contractors supplying military hardware to Kyiv, describing the moves as an escalation in hybrid warfare aimed at undermining Western assistance.
All five suspects named in the Manhattan indictment remain at large as international law enforcement agencies continue their investigations.
