US indicts five alleged Russian agents over European and domestic assassination plots
US prosecutors charged five alleged Russian agents over plots against Ukraine supporters, as Denmark reported Russian sabotage targeting its defense contractors.
United States federal prosecutors have unsealed charges against five alleged Russian intelligence operatives accused of orchestrating targeted assassinations and sabotage against supporters of Ukraine in Europe and the US. According to an indictment filed in Manhattan, the network recruited individuals globally to monitor and attack targets, including an incident in Prague in June 2024. All five suspects remain at large.
Simultaneously, Denmark's Security and Intelligence Service stated at a Copenhagen conference that Russian actors executed direct sabotage operations against Danish defense contractors producing equipment for Kyiv. Danish officials described the actions as a significant escalation in Moscow's ongoing hybrid warfare strategy.
