US prosecutors charged five alleged Russian agents over targeted killing plots, while a German court convicted a man in a Russian-backed parcel bomb scheme.

United States federal prosecutors have unsealed an indictment charging five alleged Russian intelligence agents with managing a covert global network to surveil and assassinate allies of Ukraine. According to court filings in Manhattan, the Kremlin-backed conspiracy involved hiring operatives across the US and Europe to execute attacks and surveillance, including a June 2024 assault in Prague. All five suspects remain at large.

In a concurrent security development, a regional court in Stuttgart, Germany, convicted a Ukrainian national involved in a parcel bomb scheme linked to a Russian state entity. Investigators determined that the suspect and his accomplices mailed packages containing explosives and GPS tracking devices from Germany to Ukraine in an effort to inflict damage and destabilize public confidence in European security.
