US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker stated that a joint Patriot missile production deal with Ukraine will not be finalized before winter, though other air defense projects proceed.

A joint agreement between the United States and Ukraine to manufacture Patriot air defense interceptor missiles will not be signed before the upcoming winter, according to US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker.

In an interview with Fox News, Whitaker explained that establishing long-term manufacturing initiatives requires significant lead time. While the Patriot deal remains delayed, he noted that Washington, Kyiv, and European partners are actively advancing co-production efforts for other air defense systems.

Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly requested greater air defense support and localized defense production partnerships to bolster protection for critical infrastructure against continuing aerial bombardments.
