Netanyahu dismisses US Gaza peace proposal until Hamas disarms
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected a US-backed 15-point Gaza peace plan, stating forces will not withdraw until Hamas disarms.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has formally rejected the 15-point Gaza peace framework recently announced by US President Donald Trump. Speaking during televised cabinet remarks, Netanyahu declared that Israeli forces "will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed."
The refusal marks an explicit break with Washington, which had promoted the initiative following its acceptance by Hamas in late July. Despite the diplomatic friction, Israeli military activity in the Gaza Strip has reportedly slowed following American pressure.
Netanyahu's firm stance comes as he prepares for an October 27 general election, balancing demands from far-right coalition partners opposing concessions against international allies urging a negotiated settlement.
