Ukrainian service members and veterans are calling for institutional fixes to address supply shortages, lack of rotations, and administrative inequities in the armed forces.

Ukrainian service members and veterans have publicly highlighted systemic administrative and logistical challenges within the nation's armed forces, calling for institutional reforms.

Drone unit commander Yuriy Butusov stated that frontline officers must independently secure essential equipment due to a lack of centralized supply management. Frontline surgeon Bohdan Zhuravel cautioned that prolonged deployments without rotations are causing severe exhaustion, arguing that official policy prioritizes civilian concerns over soldiers' well-being. Additionally, investigations into military commendations revealed that medals are disproportionately awarded to command staff rather than frontline infantry. To restore equity, serviceman Pavlo Kazarin advocated for reforming military medical evaluation commissions and occupational deferment processes.
