Ukrainian forces repel heavy attacks as conflicting claims persist along frontlines

Ukrainian forces engaged in over 250 combat clashes across key frontlines over 24 hours, focusing heavily on the Pokrovsk, Lyman, and Kostiantynivka directions. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, defenders repelled dozens of Russian assaults attempting to penetrate defensive positions. North of Kupiansk, Ukrainian units executed infantry clearing operations along the Oskil River after suppressing Russian drone capabilities.

Conflicting territorial reports emerged along other sectors. Ukrainian sources highlighted potential gains near Lyman, whereas the Russian Defense Ministry claimed control of several settlements approaching Sumy. Russian General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov refuted reports of Ukrainian tactical advances in Zaporizhzhia.

Simultaneously, Russian forces launched 138 drones overnight. A drone attack in Kyiv Oblast killed a mother and her two children, while a separate strike in Kherson Oblast resulted in the death of a priest.
