Ukrainian forces push back near Kupiansk as heavy fighting continues across front lines

Heavy combat has continued across eastern and southern Ukraine, with Ukrainian military officials reporting over 250 engagements within a single day. Russian forces launched intense assaults near Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka, and Lyman, attempting to break through defensive positions.

In the northern sector near Kupiansk, Ukrainian troops executed infantry clearing operations along the Oskil River following electronic warfare operations that disrupted Russian drone usage. Additional reports indicate Ukrainian forces may have reclaimed up to 200 square kilometers of territory in the Lyman region.

Front-line claims remain contested in several sectors. The Russian Defense Ministry reported taking control of several settlements on the approaches to Sumy, while Russian General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov publicly refuted assertions of Ukrainian military progress in the Zaporizhzhia region.
