Ukrainian troops advance near Kupiansk and Lyman, while Russian forces claim progress near Sumy and deny Ukrainian gains in Zaporizhzhia.

Active clashes continue along multiple sectors of the front line in Ukraine, with opposing military leaderships presenting contrasting operational updates. Ukrainian troops have reportedly advanced along the right bank of the Oskil River north of Kupiansk, while officials prepare to announce the liberation of approximately 200 square kilometres near Lyman.

Conversely, Russia’s Ministry of Defence claimed that its forces captured several settlements on the approaches to Sumy. In the Zaporizhzhia sector, Russian Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov publicly dismissed assertions of recent Ukrainian tactical progress. Meanwhile, air strikes targeted ammunition storage facilities in the Kyiv region overnight as long-range bombardment continues.
