Ukrainian forces advance near Kupiansk as heavy fighting continues across eastern front
Ukrainian troops advanced near Kupiansk as over 250 daily combat clashes were reported across the eastern front alongside deadly Russian drone attacks in Kyiv and Kherson.
Military engagements along the eastern front remained intense, with the Ukrainian General Staff reporting over 250 daily combat clashes. Heavy Russian assaults targeted Ukrainian positions near Pokrovsk, Lyman, and Kostiantynivka. North of Kupiansk, Ukrainian troops advanced along the right bank of the Oskil River following infantry sweeps and drone suppression operations.
Conflicting accounts persisted in other sectors. While Russian defense officials claimed territorial gains in Sumy Oblast and denied Ukrainian counter-advances in Zaporizhzhia, Ukrainian military updates highlighted defensive operations.
Aerial attacks also continued overnight as Russian forces launched 138 drones across Ukraine. Strikes in Kyiv Oblast resulted in the deaths of a mother and two children, while a drone attack in Kherson Oblast killed a priest.
