Ukrainian farmers near frontline adopt defense roles against drone threats

Ukrainian agricultural coordinator Viktor Hordienko described how frontline farmers are using personal weapons to protect crops and machinery from Russian drones.
Ukrainian agricultural coordinator Viktor Hordienko has detailed how farmers operating near combat zones are forced to take up arms to safeguard their operations. Having previously managed international grain logistics from major trade hubs in Europe and Asia, Hordienko now directly defends his agricultural enterprise against Russian attack and reconnaissance drones using personal shotguns.
Agricultural workers face persistent aerial hazards while attempting to preserve livestock, machinery, and crop production. Hordienko noted that maintaining daily farming routines under constant threat remains crucial for sustaining Ukraine's internal food supply and supporting local economies along the active frontline.
