Ukraine restructures army command under Mykhailo Drapatyj while ex-chief Zaluzhnyi claims the country will never join NATO due to outdated alliance tactics.

Ukraine has appointed Mykhailo Drapatyj as head of its armed forces, initiating structural changes to resolve internal command inefficiencies. Meanwhile, former army commander and current ambassador to the United Kingdom, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, stated that Ukraine will never join NATO, claiming the alliance remains reliant on outdated warfare strategies unsuited for modern conflicts.

Concurrently, domestic security challenges persist. The Security Service of Ukraine reported thwarting numerous assassination attempts targeting soldiers through Russian intelligence lures on online dating platforms. In air defense developments, recent Russian ballistic missile strikes on the Kyiv region passed without any interceptions, increasing pressure on Ukrainian forces to target missile launch sites directly inside Russian territory.
