Ukraine is accelerating domestic defense efforts, developing indigenous missiles and glide bomb modules to counter ballistic vulnerabilities and foreign supply delays.

Ukraine continues to expand its domestic arms production as Western air defense deliveries lag and Russian ballistic missile attacks persist. President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that establishing local manufacturing of Patriot systems under U.S. licensing could take several years due to regulatory hurdles.

To address immediate vulnerabilities, Ukrainian firms are developing indigenous ballistic missiles, though full-scale production faces technological challenges. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian military is procuring the newly tested "Equalizer" glide bomb module, created by DG Industry and defense accelerator Brave1. The system converts unguided munitions into precision-guided weapons compatible with Soviet-era fighters and incoming Western jets, aiming to reduce Kyiv's reliance on foreign military aid.
