Trump says Ukraine and Russia agree to stop energy strikes

US President Donald Trump says Russia and Ukraine agreed to stop energy strikes, as casualties mount and the EU extends sanctions.
US President Donald Trump announced that Ukraine and Russia have agreed to halt attacks on each other's energy infrastructure, although combat persists across several fronts.
Despite the reported deal, casualties mounted on both sides. Kherson officials reported two dead and 14 wounded from Russian shelling, while Ukrainian drones injured seven in Sochi and Belgorod.
Politically, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed the country's prosecutor general by decree. Simultaneously, the European Union extended sanctions on Moscow after a Russian strike hit a train near Poland. Western officials framed the train attack as an attempt to divide Kyiv's European allies.
