Trump claims Russia and Ukraine agreed to stop energy strikes as Zelenskyy sets conditions
Donald Trump reported an agreement between Russia and Ukraine to halt energy strikes, while Volodymyr Zelenskyy demanded Western guarantees to ensure compliance.
Former US President Donald Trump claimed that Russia and Ukraine agreed to cease strikes against each other's energy facilities. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated Kyiv would only stop targeting Russian energy targets if Western partners ensure Moscow refrains from striking Ukrainian energy, transport, and food supply networks.
Military actions persisted across multiple regions. Shelling in Kherson left two dead and 14 wounded, while Ukrainian drone operations injured seven individuals in Belgorod and Sochi. Additionally, European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot condemned a Russian strike targeting a train near the Polish border, framing it as an effort to intimidate European allies.
In domestic developments, Zelenskyy issued an official decree removing Ukraine's state prosecutor from office.
