Donald Trump claimed Russia and Ukraine agreed to cease energy infrastructure strikes, even as regional casualties mounted and the EU extended sanctions against Moscow.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Russia and Ukraine agreed to pause strikes targeting energy infrastructure, though fighting remains active across multiple regions. Local officials reported that Russian shelling in southern Kherson killed two people and wounded 14 others. Meanwhile, Ukrainian drone attacks reportedly injured seven individuals in Russia's Belgorod region and Sochi.

Diplomatic friction escalated following a Russian strike on a train near the border with Poland. European Union foreign chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot condemned the event, stating it aimed to intimidate European partners. The European Union subsequently extended its sanctions against Moscow, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a decree dismissing the country's prosecutor general.
