Trump says Russia and Ukraine agreed to avoid energy targets amid ongoing strikes

Trump announced a deal to spare energy infrastructure, while strikes continued in Kherson, Belgorod, and Sochi, and the EU extended sanctions on Russia.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Russia and Ukraine agreed to refrain from targeting each other's energy infrastructure, despite ongoing military engagements across several fronts.
Local authorities reported that Russian shelling in Ukraine's Kherson region killed two people and wounded 14 others. Meanwhile, Ukrainian drone strikes injured seven individuals across Russia's Belgorod region and the coastal city of Sochi.
In Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree dismissing the nation's prosecutor general. Internationally, European Union diplomacy chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot condemned a Russian strike on a train near the Ukrainian-Polish border, describing it as an attempt to intimidate European allies. Following the incident, the EU extended its sanctions against Moscow.
