US President Donald Trump announced an agreement between Russia and Ukraine regarding energy targets as fighting and EU sanctions extensions continue.

US President Donald Trump announced that Russia and Ukraine have agreed to stop targeting each other's energy infrastructure. However, hostilities persist across multiple sectors. Ukrainian authorities reported two deaths and 14 injuries from shelling in the Kherson region, while drone strikes in Russia's Belgorod and Sochi regions left seven people injured.

Meanwhile, European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot publicly condemned a Russian strike on a train near the Ukrainian-Polish border, warning that Moscow is attempting to intimidate European allies. On the political front, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed the country's prosecutor general via decree, and the European Union officially extended its sanction regime against Russia.
