Trump claims Russia and Ukraine agreed to pause energy infrastructure attacks

US President Donald Trump announced an agreement between Russia and Ukraine to halt strikes on energy infrastructure, while the EU extended sanctions against Moscow.
US President Donald Trump stated that Russia and Ukraine have agreed to halt attacks on each other's energy infrastructure. The announcement comes alongside ongoing fighting, with Russian shelling in Kherson causing two deaths and 14 injuries, while Ukrainian drone strikes in Sochi and Belgorod injured seven people.
Domestically, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a decree removing the country's prosecutor general. Meanwhile, European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot condemned a Russian strike on a train near the Polish border as an attempt to intimidate European partners. In response to continuing hostilities, the EU extended its existing sanctions against Moscow.
