Trump announced a Russia-Ukraine agreement to halt energy grid attacks, as fighting persists in Kherson, Belgorod, and Sochi, and the EU extends sanctions against Moscow.

US President Donald Trump announced that Russia and Ukraine have reached an agreement to refrain from attacking each other's energy infrastructure, despite ongoing battlefield violence.

On the ground, hostilities continue across multiple fronts. Russian shelling in Ukraine's Kherson region killed two people and wounded 14 others. Concurrently, Ukrainian drone attacks targeted Russia's Belgorod region and the Black Sea resort city of Sochi, resulting in seven casualties.

In response to the conflict, the European Union extended its sanctions regime against Moscow. Top officials, including EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, condemned a Russian strike on a train near the Polish border, describing it as an effort to intimidate European allies. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a decree formally removing the country's prosecutor general from his position.
