Trump claims Russia and Ukraine agreed to halt energy infrastructure strikes

US President Donald Trump announced that Moscow and Kyiv have agreed to suspend strikes against energy infrastructure. The statement coincides with ongoing military activity on the ground, where recent shelling in Ukraine's Kherson region killed two people and injured 14 others. Furthermore, Ukrainian drone strikes reportedly injured seven individuals across Russia's Belgorod region and Sochi.

On the political front, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued an official decree dismissing the country's prosecutor general. Meanwhile, European Union diplomatic chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot strongly condemned a Russian attack on a train near the Ukrainian-Polish border, framing it as an attempt to intimidate and divide European nations. The European Union has also officially extended its existing sanctions framework against Russia.
