US President Donald Trump reported an agreement to halt energy infrastructure attacks, while the EU extended sanctions following fresh Russian strikes near the Polish border.

US President Donald Trump announced that Russia and Ukraine have agreed to halt attacks on each other's energy infrastructure, despite continued heavy shelling across multiple regions. Ukrainian officials reported two deaths and 14 injuries from Russian strikes in Kherson, while Ukrainian drone attacks in Belgorod and Sochi wounded seven people.

Meanwhile, European Union diplomacy chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot condemned a Russian strike on a train near the Ukrainian-Polish border, warning that Moscow aims to intimidate European allies and foster internal division. In response, the European Union officially renewed its sanctions against Russia. In Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree removing the country's prosecutor general.
