Trump announces Russia and Ukraine energy truce as strikes continue

US President Trump announced a Russia-Ukraine agreement to halt energy infrastructure attacks, even as cross-border strikes and EU sanctions decisions continue.
US President Donald Trump announced that Russia and Ukraine agreed to cease attacks on energy infrastructure, though hostilities persist across several fronts.
In Ukraine's Kherson region, local authorities reported two deaths and 14 injuries from recent shelling. Concurrently, Ukrainian drone attacks in Russia's Belgorod region and Sochi injured seven individuals.
On the diplomatic front, the European Union extended sanctions against Moscow. EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot condemned a Russian strike on a train near the Polish border, labeling it an attempt to intimidate European nations. Additionally, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed the country's prosecutor general.
