US President Donald Trump announced an agreement between Russia and Ukraine to halt energy infrastructure attacks, while the EU extended sanctions against Moscow.

US President Donald Trump stated that Russia and Ukraine have agreed to suspend strikes on each other's energy infrastructure, even as fighting persists across multiple fronts. Local reports indicate ongoing casualties, with Russian bombardment in Ukraine's Kherson region resulting in two deaths and 14 injuries, while Ukrainian drone strikes reportedly wounded seven people in Sochi and Belgorod.

In response to continuing hostilities, the European Union prolonged its sanctions against Russia. European Union Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot publicly condemned a recent Russian attack on a train near the Ukrainian border with Poland, characterizing it as an effort to fracture European unity. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a decree removing the country's prosecutor general from office as part of an internal government restructuring.
